Embrace the Spectrum – Therapy Group
The next group will be starting on Wednesday 21st May and will take place every Wednesday evening from 7pm until 8.30pm
Embrace the Spectrum is an online group therapy course for autistic adults who have discovered their diagnosis later in life, whether formally or self-identified. This 8-week online programme offers a safe, supportive, and understanding space to explore identity, share experiences, and connect with others on a similar journey.
Each weekly session will provide an opportunity to reflect, process, and build confidence in a neurodivergent-affirming environment. Whether you’re looking to make sense of your diagnosis, connect with like-minded individuals, or simply be heard and accepted, this group is here for you.
What to expect
Sessions will be 90 minutes long and cover topics such as;
- Communication
- Emotions
- Masking
- Isolation
- Self acceptance
We will start with some (short) mindfulness that is adapted for neurodivergence and a check in with how each participant is feeling, this will be different each session and will focus on exploring different ways of recognising and communicating how we are feeling.
We will then open a discussion about the topic of that week, where group participants can share experiences and strategies. It is different from individual therapy, so we won’t be going deeply into any one person’s challenges. But at times you may be asked to expand on something or to think about how you felt in a certain situation and where that feeling may have come from, to deepen self-awareness.
You can contribute as much or as little as you feel comfortable, some people find they learn a lot just from listening to others at first, and take a little longer to share themselves. There is also the options to contribute through the chat function rather than verbally if preferred.
The aim of the group is to work on self-awareness, self-development and self-acceptance.
If you think you would like to join the therapy group, or you want to find out more information, then a pre-group assessment will be arranged. This helps me to ensure that group work is the right fit for you and your needs, and allows you to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you may have.

The pre-group assessment if free of charge.
